Hidden Springs, ID

From James Faasau Idaho District 19 Seat B Republican Candidate

I would first like to thank all of my supporters during the campaign. It was truly an honor to be your pick to represent the Republican Party and your conservative values. I would like to thank the Republican Party for its support and working with me through the process. I would like to thank my family most, for standing by me and always being there for me and supporting me along the way. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Although the election didn’t go the way I would have liked, I absolutely feel like it was a big win for the conservatives in District 19. The district had one of the largest voter turnouts of any district in the state and in its history. That was due to the large push of conservative and Republican voters. We made our voices known and the incumbent understands that a large portion of his district is going to be watching him and hoping he also represents their voices.

At the same time, I would like to thank my opponent Chris Mathias for his willingness to serve the people of District 19 and Idaho. We may not share the same political values but I will pray for him to make good decisions while voting so Idaho can continue being a wonderful place.

I am very grateful for this introduction into politics and truly understanding the necessity of good people in office. I will continue to love this state that has been so good to me and many others. I will take some time and evaluate what my future holds but I value the friendships I discovered and opportunities to help others along the way.

Idaho has some great conservative leaders in the legislature and they need our help more than ever as Idaho continues its battle with non-traditional values trying to take root here. I will forever be a champion of a Conservative Idaho.

Why I'm Running for State Representative

I grew up an ‘80’s kid. I was raised in the beautiful red state of California. That was a great decade. We had a thriving economy, legendary music, and people were proud to be Americans. By the time I left for Marine Corps basic training in 1994, Bill Clinton was our president and our great state of California had turned blue. In just two decades it became what it is known for today, a bastion of socialism.

Like the conservative Californians I grew up knowing, Idahoans are unaware of what’s happening around them. Idaho has always been a conservative state. Why would anyone think it would change? Well, the left is determined to change it. Already we are seeing Critical Race Theory enter our schools and libraries. During COVID-19 we saw mandates being implemented in Boise. This resulted in closures of churches, schools, and small businesses.

In 2021, I was employed as a commercial airline pilot for a major airline, and as a Navy reservist. Both the airline and the Navy mandated I receive the COVID-19 vaccine, or resign. As difficult as it was, I chose to resign. It was at this point I felt it was time to act.

I love Idaho. The battle to keep Idaho conservative is personal. I will fight to keep the values that made this state great. Please support me in this fight!
